2023 Community Service Sites
Piedmont Park Conservancy
Piedmont Park is a 200-acre green space in the middle of Atlanta. 4-Hers will work with park volunteers to do landscaping tasks around the Park.
Atlanta History Center
The Atlanta History Center is located on beautifully landscaped property in Buckhead, a suburb of Atlanta that is the financial center of the Southeast. 4-Hers will provide landscaping help. The Center makes it a fun day including competitions and a tour of the Center.
Sandy Springs Parks, and Decatur Parks
Each of these locations are suburbs of the “ATL”. Their Parks & Recreation Departments are working on special outdoor activities for our 4-Her’s. They will be outside and similar to Piedmont Park activities.
Books for Africa
Delegates will be sorting and packing books for Children in Africa.
Camp Fortson
Camp Fortson 4-H Center is located 25 miles south of Atlanta and is the closest of the Georgia’s five 4-H Camping Centers to the Atlanta metro area. Camp staff have a busy morning painting, clearing brush, cleaning and other activities, finishing with Hot Cocoa before you head back!
Benteen Elementary, Parkside Elementary, Dunbar Elementary & Burgess-Peterson Academy
These are inner city elementary schools, and we will be helping do many postponed projects that they need help with. Some may be reading to youth, others helping with holiday preparations.
Hosea Helps
We will help restore order to the warehouse at Hosea Helps. Thanksgiving Day and weekend is the busiest period for this non-profit that started with a simple Thanksgiving Day meal in 1971 to a 365 day a year operation reaching thousands of people who are the most vulnerable in the Atlanta Metro Area.
